Our story
From a tile setter in England to a Tampa Bay institution
Great Britain Tile was founded by George Clamp, a British-trained tile setter who started in the trade at 15. What began as one showroom has grown into a family business that's been part of the Tampa Bay community for four decades.
Today we're based in Land O' Lakes, where our showroom, delivery hub and installation team all work under one roof. We install tile and flooring, and we sell it in our designer showroom and our online store.

1970s
George's tile journey begins
George Clamp starts in the tile business at age 15 in England, learning the craft that would define the company.

1986
Great Britain Tile is founded
George opens the first office and showroom in Tampa's Town 'n' Country area, bringing English tile expertise to Florida.

1990s
The family business grows
George's sons join the business, and it moves to a bigger location on Gunn Highway to serve more customers.

2000s
Major builder and commercial contracts
Contracts with Lennar Homes, Morrison Homes and commercial accounts establish our reputation for large-scale projects.

Our Land O' Lakes showroom opens
We open our current showroom at 9533 Land O' Lakes Blvd, in the heart of the community we serve.
